I am nervous ordering shutters online. What happens if I make a mistake?
As long as you follow our Measuring Guides and make the most of our shutter experts, you can rest assured all will go flawlessly. For extra reassurance, contact us via live chat, email, or telephone before you order. We welcome customers' digital photos, if in any doubt, email us with your window details.
At checkout, you can opt in for a free Design Review, which means nothing goes into production until our team has reviewed your design and measurements.
If you decide not to opt in to the Design review and notice a mistake yourself, you have a 1-hour window before your order goes to the factory, please get in touch immediately.
What is the number 1 mistake when ordering an Outside Mount?
Reading and following our Outside Mount Measuring Guide is the key to success. Customers often don't include the width of their chosen frame in their final dimensions, which means shutters fit inside the window opening rather than outside. We cannot stress enough the importance of following our measuring guides.
Can I visit a store to look at your products?
It is not possible to view our shutters in stores. However, we can send you free samples so you can check the shade and quality before ordering. We keep our prices low by avoiding the costs of expensive showrooms, and by dealing directly with us, you receive expert advice from our fully trained staff.
How long will my order take?
Express Shutters can be dispatched in approximately 1–4 weeks, and our other ranges in 9–14 weeks (unless otherwise specified). Estimated dispatch dates are given on each product page. These lead times start from after you confirm your order. Further details are on our shipping information page.
How much will the delivery cost me?
Shipping is free on all orders. We do not ship outside the continental USA. If you reside in Alaska or Hawaii, we can ship your order to any mainland destination; shipping arrangements from there to you are your sole responsibility.
Where are the plantation shutters made?
We manufacture our shutters in North America and China. We use top quality materials, and only use suppliers that invest in the best manufacturing machinery, and ensure their staff are well looked after.
Why don't you make all your window shutters in the US instead of China?
We believe in giving our customers the most choice and flexibility.
We’ve carefully selected the best manufacturing partners in American and overseas so we can offer different options depending on what matters most to you. Our American-made shutters are our fastest option, offering premium craftsmanship and shorter lead times.
We also work with carefully selected partners in China to deliver excellent quality at a more accessible price point. Whichever option you choose, every shutter is made to our exacting standards and fully quality-checked before it leaves production.
What happens if my shutters are wrong, don't fit or arrive damaged?
We do everything in our power to ensure your shutters arrive in perfect condition. In the event of transit damage, we'll work with you on a replacement — either a full shutter replacement or a parts replacement. What arrives with my order?
Everything you need is supplied with your order — shutters come with a custom built frame and all the hardware. Check out our installation guides for shutters to see how the process works. You'll need no more than a spirit level, drill and steel tape measure.
What is the guarantee period?
All our shutters come with a 5-year warranty as standard, protecting against manufacturing defects. Any shipping damage must be reported within 5 days of order receipt.
How can I get a price for my shutters?
We price our shutters by the square foot. Simply enter the width and height of your window into the product configurator and we'll show you instantly how much your shutters will cost and an idea of what they will look like. Applicable taxes are shown at checkout.
Will I need to pay sales tax?
Yes. All US states will assess appropriate sales tax based on your ship-to address at checkout. As a law-abiding company, we are not able to waive taxes.
