Plantation shutters are one of the most durable window treatments available. Unlike curtains that fade over time or blinds that become brittle after prolonged exposure to heat, our plantation shutters are built to last as a long-term fixture in your home.
A common concern is whether shutters will fade, yellow, or discolor over time, especially in rooms with direct sunlight or in climates with extreme temperature changes. Here is the answer.
No. Our shutters are specifically engineered to resist fading in direct sunlight.
Every shutter we manufacture is painted with a minimum of 7 layers of paint, with UV protectant and sealant mixed directly into the paint. This mean
White shutters will not yellow over time
Black and dark shutters will not fade or lose their depth of color
Paint will not chip, peel, crack, or discolor
This applies to both vinyl painted shutters and wooden painted or stained shutters
Just as our solid materials will not crack or warp in the sun, our paint is built to last
All of this is covered under our 5-year warranty.
