Our “Ask Yasmeen” posts will tackle some of most frequently asked questions about
plantation shutters.
Today’s question is:
Are the Shutter Store’s shutters manufactured in the USA?
Get custom-made hardwood or polyvinyl shutters in as little as 2 weeks with our American-made ranges!
We are proud to offer All-American shutters in both our American Hardwood and American Polyvinyl ranges. Look for the American Flag under
Full Height or
Café Style shutters in our online shop to indicate which shutters are made in the USA.
Why choose American-made?
Here’s what sets the American Hardwood and American Polyvinyl apart from the rest of our shutters:
Shutters made overseas take about 5-6 weeks before they ship out to you. They need time for manufacturing
plus transit time from the overseas factory to our USA shipping facility.
American shutters are ready to ship in 3-4 weeks from our California factory. For a surcharge, you can opt for
Express American Hardwood or
Express American Polyvinyl which will be ready to ship in 2 weeks! Yes, just 2 weeks for custom-made shutters that are made of solid poplar hardwood, or solid polyvinyl with aluminum core.
Support American manufacturing, and don’t worry about meeting your project deadline that may be creeping up!
Though the quality of material and warranty is the same across all our product ranges, there are some different style options available in American Hardwood and American Polyvinyl.
American Polyvinyl is the only range offering a waterproof outside mount Deco Frame, perfect if you want a more decorative frame to mount your outside mount shutters in a humid or damp area.
A huge thank you to Ken in Alabama for providing us with pictures of his finished installation with American-made shutters throughout the house.
The American ranges offer different paint & stain color options than those made overseas, so you may find one of these is a better fit with your home décor. Order up to 4 free color samples

They also have narrower frames available which are great if you have limited space to mount your outside mount shutters (for example, a sidelight or French door window with limited surface area around the outside). Some tilt-in windows will even clear these frames with an inside mount. You can use the printable templates from our
measuring guides to find the best-fitting frame for your window.
If you have a limited surface area for mounting your shutter frame, the American Hardwood or American Polyvinyl ranges have narrower frames than those offered in our other materials.
