Paula, based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, came across shutters sold via B&Q in the UK. She liked the look of the shutters so much that she contacted the company to find out if they would ship their shutters to her home in Fort Lauderdale. ‘Of course!’ was the reply and we asked Paula to tell us here at The Shutter Store, the US division of the shutters company, how she found working with us.

"Well, I have to say that having looked at your new US website I think you will do very well. The reason I liked your UK shutters site so much was that it was interactive with the shutter store buying section changing as you selected different choices. Therefore when I wasn’t sure if I wanted white shutters or walnut shutters the image changed and I was able to get a better idea of how the shutters would look.

It may seem crazy living in Florida where there’s lots of shutters around, but I didn’t want to get the run of the mill regular shutters that you see in Home Depot or Lowes. I also was on a budget but didn’t want to be forced into buying plastic shutters that is often the only option if you’re on a limited budget.

When I called up I was told there would be no problem shipping to Florida. A cost was worked out and I went ahead and ordered the shutters.

What stood out was that the people I spoke to really genuinely cared about helping me and getting my shutters right. I was walked through the different options open to me and got a few great tips when talking to the staff over the phone.

The wood shutters were shipped directly to my home in Fort Lauderdale. The packing was great and made sure there was no damage or dinks in the shutters.

I won’t lie, it was my husband who installed the shutters and he had no problems at all. We’ve had lots of positive comments from friends and neighbors and they call thought the shutters cost a lot more than they did.
