Such outside mount installations can be mounted onto window trim or directly onto the wall.
An outside mount blind should cover the entire area of the window to stop light filtering through the top or side of the blind.
If you are unsure if your window is best suited to be measured as an OUTSIDE or INSIDE mount then please email us a photo of your window. We will mark your photo to show where you should measure for your blinds.

- Use a steel tape measure. Plastic tapes may result in measuring the wrong sizes.
- Ensure you look for crank handles or obstructions which could impede the operation of the blind. If in doubt, email a photo of your windows.
- To measure the WIDTH of the window, take measurements in two or three places. Measure bottom, middle and top. To order correctly, order the LARGEST WIDTH from the 3 sizes you take.
- Measure the DROP applying the same principle. Take 3 sizes – left, middle and right. Order using the LARGEST DROP. This will ensure your blinds cover the widow.
- If ordering blinds for different windows, even if they LOOK the same, measure each one individually.
When placing your order, if following this measure guide, select OUTSIDE MOUNT on our site as the blind type you desire. We will not make any deductions when you order your blinds as an outside mount.
We will ALWAYS call you to check over your order details before we manufacture your blinds. This is a great service and a key difference between other companies. This quick call makes all the difference and will ensure your blinds are the perfect fit for your windows.
