After you’ve read either our inside mount of outside mount shutters measure guides, you may have identified that you need to use an extra deep L frame to install your shutters. This short guide gives additional hints and tips to consider when using this frame.

Extra deep L frames can be provided for both inside mount and outside mount shutter installation. For inside mount shutters, this is most often where the shutters are being mounted close to the window.

The extra deep L frame gives additional space behind the shutter panel and allows the slats to tilt without hitting against any part of window. Most often, protruding handles, such as crank handles can stick into the room and interfere with the shutter slats tilting.

Using an extra deep L frame to install your shutter panels often overcomes this issue and gives you more space behind the shutters slats to tilt and not foul in the handles.
