Windows in indoor swimming pool areas can be tricky to dress. Do you put anything at all on the windows? Are you overlooked and looking to gain privacy or simply make the space more intimate by shutting out the outside?
Shutters for indoor swimming pools are a great solution and are not only stylish but exceptionally practical. Most homes which feature an indoor pool have sliding doors or French doors which open to an outside space. When the weather is nice, naturally you want to be able to pull back your shutters and get out of the door easily to come and go between the swimming pool and the yard. The last thing you want is to have awkward blind cords in the way or contend with moisture soaked drapes!
Plantation shutters are ideal for indoor swimming pools. This installation was completed with wood shutters. We are often asked if shutters made from wood are a good idea in areas where there is a lot of moisture such as an indoor pool room. The answer is yes as the shutters are treated to avoid warping or twisting. However, if the area has lots of 'water activity' (eg a home with an indoor pools with lots of young children splashing around!) then we would recommend our faux / vinyl shutters.
The shutters here are mounted inside the recess. They have 2 1/2" slats with regular tilt rods on the front of the panels.
