Most of us know how great plantation shutters for windows are as a window covering but not everyone realizes the flexibility afforded by using shutters as a room divider.
This customer installed white wooden shutters between their bedroom and en suite bathroom. Inspiring bathroom ideas show how different colors, textures and styles create equally stunning looks. This photo shows how using shutters as room dividers helps tie in the treatment used on the bathroom window with the shutter ‘doors’ that form the entry to the bathroom.
These shutters have been custom made from poplar hardwood. They are painted with a UV protected white paint which gives a clean, crisp look to the decor. The louvers are 2 ½” and have a push rod to tilt and adjust the slats. As all orders are completely custom made you can select concealed tilt rods if you desire a more contemporary look. Doing this works well when using your shutters as a room divider as it means that you don’t have to chose the side which will have the rod visible within the room.
We have found increasing numbers of customers placing orders for shutters to be used as room dividers and installing them in ever more varied ways. They prove especially successful when you want to close off an area of a room (say a galley kitchen) but, when using this space, you can open the panels or tilt the louvers to allow light to flow effortlessly.
Our design team genuinely love to help advise our customers on the best design and measuring method for their shutters. So, if you’ve read our shutters design guide and still have questions, make sure you contact us for more help.
