The shutters shown here have a rebated stile. The image also shows the mid rail (also known as a shutter divide rail). The mid rail on our shutters has 2 mouse holes which allow the shutter push rods to rest flush, when the shutter slats are closed. This 2 hour hole system is rare among American Shutters and indicates that the shutter slats will close flat in both directions. This can also help reduce the amount of light you have entering the room, depending upon which direction light hits your windows (and shutters) in the morning.

The shutters here are painted in UV protected white paint. They have 2 ½” slats and regular front facing push rods.
