Interior shutters are shown here, installed on a bay window. The 135 degree angle bay window is well suited for have interior shutters as a window treatment as they fit exceptionally neatly onto each section of the window.
The panels of these interior wood shutters are installed within their own frames. When you buy wood shutters from The Shutter Store, there are a wide variety of different frame options to choose from, with a design and style to suit almost every window type and customer preference.
The great thing about interior shutters is that you can either swing open the panels (in this case, the panels on each section would bifold onto each other, leaving the window clear) or you can tilt the louvers on the shutter panels. If you look at these shutter panels you can see a piece of wood, running horizontally on each panel which is called a divide rail. This shutter divide rail results in the louvers on the upper and lower sections being capable of tilting independently. You can therefore tilt the louvers on the lower section at a slight angle for privacy, while tilting the louvers on the upper section to the open position. Any people walking past, cannot see into your home due to the angle of the louvers.
Deciding how many shutter panels is right for your window is simple. Read the section 'How many Shutter Panels' for interior shutters on our website.
